CC-Link Version 1.10 cable (Using 110O terminators)

If the entire system consists of Version 1.10 / 2.0 devices and Version 1.10 cables, then:

  1. The shortest inter-station cable length is 20 cm under all conditions.
  2. Flexibility of cable length reduces work on wiring and setting devices.
  3. With no extra cable length required when devices are put adjacently,
    you can use space effectively.
  4. Different brand cables can be used within a single system.

If a system uses any module(s) compatible with Version 1.0 or cables compatible with Version 1.0,
then follow the Version 1.0 specification for maximum overall cable extension length and inter-station cable length.

Instructions for Cable use

Version 1.10 cable is recommended for use with products of Version 1.10 or higher
(Version 1.10, Version 2.0).

If the entire system consists of the products of Version 1.10 or higher and uses Version 1.10 cable, then the required length of each inter-station cable is 20 cm or more.
Different brand cables can be used within a single system.
(See CC-Link specification for inter-station cable length and maximum overall cable extension length.)

If a system uses either Version 1.0 devices and/or Version 1.0 cable, then follow the CC-Link Version 1.0 specification for inter-station cable length and maximum overall cable extension length.
Different brand cables within a single system is not recommended.

For a complete installation guide, including the different cable requirements, see the download page and read the CC-Link Installation Guide

Network Compatibility of CC-Link Version 2.0

  • A Version 1.10 Master station is compatible with both Version 2.0 slave stations and Version 1.10 slave stations. However, the Version 2.0 slave stations can only be used with their Version 1.10 capability (i.e. the Extended Cyclic Setting x1). They cannot provide any additional data volume.
  • A Version 2.0 Master station is compatible with both Version 2.0 slave stations and Version 1.10 slave stations. However, the Version 1.10 slave stations can only be used within their capability. They cannot provide added data volume.

Specification for T-Branch Transmission

The figures below show the network requirements when using T-Branch connections, and when not using the powered repeater units.

Repeater is not used
When a repeater is not used and a T-Branch branch line is incorporated into the network configuration, the maximum network speed is 625kbps.  When a repeater is not used, a branch line (T-Branch) can not branch off from another branch line.

Repeater is used
Using a repeater enables the user to connect a branch at every communication speed.  Using a repeater also allows the user to extend cable transmission distance.  If a repeater is used and a branch line is incorporated into the network configuration using only a T-Branch connector (not a powered repeater), the maximum network speed is again only 625kbps.  Only if all branch line connections incorporate a repeater, is the network capable of operating at all communication speeds.
NOTE: When repeater is used, the specific repeater requirements are not specific to CC‑Link; it depends upon the type of repeater used.
NOTE: Depending upon the repeater module, a Terminating Resistor may be necessary at the end of the branch connection, see the specific repeater module specifications for connection requirements.

Star Configuration
A Star Configuration is considered a modification of a branch connection; with multiple connections at one point where the interval between branch connections is zero.  A non-powered T-Branch hub at the multiple branch connection point may be used for network speeds less than 2.5Mbps.  The use of a powered repeater hub at the multiple branch connection point is required for network speeds greater than 625kbps.  Using a powered repeater also allows the user to extend cable transmission distance.
NOTE: Depending upon the Repeater hub module, a Terminating Resistor may be necessary at the end of the branch connection, see the Repeater module specifications for Terminating Resistor connection requirements.
